I thought I'd just put creating brushes as one tutorial on its own, instead of throwing it in with other things.

SAI TOOL PRESETS
If your Easy Paint Tool Sai DOESNT have tools (or if you messed them up and cant get them back to normal)

1) Right click on a blank tool square

It will then come up with a list of options.
Choose the tool you wish to make. Heres my order:

Click PEN a new PEN tool will come up.

To make basic pen set the little slide bars too -
Normal/Multiply- Normal
Edge shape - Last selection (Square)
Size - Any
Min size - 0%
Density - 98%-100%
Texture - None (A drop down box)
Layer - None (Another drop down box with canvas paper etc in it)

Tick advanced

Quality - 4 (Best)
Hardness - 0
Min density - o
Max density - 100%
HardSoft - 100
Pres

i just need to know: if i made a lineart on 1 layer
is it posseble to click on something to colour it in on an aother layer

of course. the panel that isnt used for tools is the layer panel. above where your layer 1 is, there is a section of buttons. The one that looks like a sheet of paper, is the "new layer" tool. If you click that, it will make "layer 2" you can then click that, and drag in underneath layer 1, to colour under neath your lines. I will be covering all of this in my next tutorial more fully, which I will be trying to work on today.

Mmm, are there any other versions of Paint Tool SAI? I was sort of wondering.

Thanks for these helpful tutorials.
Just one question: what version of SAI do you use? I'm using 1.1.0 and I can't seem to find that Smoothing Pressure slider you mentioned

1.0.1 apparently. It doesn't always come up, as its only under the blend settings, so unless you're using a tool that uses the blend settings, it wont be there.

Hm yeah, I looked at the water tools and the brush, and it's nowhere there :< oh well, maybe I'll have a look at that version
